We don’t take the choice to design a symmetrical and balanced space for granted. Take a minute to browse through a few of our recent projects and you will discover that in most cases, what we care about most is a lack of symmetry. We like playing with contrasts, textures, materials and colors, creating a sort of “systematic chaos” in the spaces we plan and design.
From that perspective, this project is breaking the mold. We chose to change our habits and went for a symmetrical arrangement of the space, an arrangement which has a clear central axis and overlapping dimensions. This symmetry creates balance in the space, which in turn creates peace of mind and a steady rhythm of energy flowing through it. Alongside the geometric lines and precise composition, the combination of natural materials – such as wood and marble – and a harmonious color pallet intensify the sense of balanced posture.
Perhaps it’s the time, but now – of all times – symmetrical and balanced is considered unpredictable or even transgressive. Perhaps returning to the ground, serenity, and looking inward, created this artistic design choice of a symmetrical and internal balance, arranging a balanced space.
